Juice Weight Management

I want to lose weight. Can calamansi juice help? Calamansi is a small citrus fruit from the Philippines, with a bright orange flesh and a peel that goes from green to orange as it ripens. But does it help you lose weight?

Calamansi has a reputation for weight loss, but it has no scientific relationship with weight gain or weight loss. Calamansi is a fruit which is rich in Vitamin C thus it has many health benefits. But it will boost your metabolism.

Weight gain and weight loss depends on the total calories that you consume in the whole day. Eat less calories and you will start to loose weight with some exercise. Weight loss s all about calorie management. But you know that. What we eat is what we are.

Metabolism Booster

There is no secret ingredient that allows you to lose weight with ease.

That said,

  • Calamansi juice does have a reputation for its impact on weight loss, as it has the ability to not only boost the metabolism but also eliminate many of the toxins in the body that can contribute to fat storage.

Calorie burn…

So perhaps on its own it will not solve your weight problem, but it can assist in the process.

  • By boosting your metabolism, the more calories you burn and the easier it is to lose weight and keep it off. Having a high metabolism can also give you energy and make you feel better.

Calorie control…

You rely on your metabolism to breathe, think, digest, circulate blood, keep warm in the cold, and stay cool in the heat.

  • A high metabolism means you’ll need to take in more calories to maintain your weight.

That’s one reason why some people can eat more than others without gaining weight.

Metabolism speed…

Body size, age, gender and genes all play a role in the speed of your metabolism.

  • As we get older, we tend to gain fat and lose muscle as our metabolism reduces.

Our metabolism does begin to grind a bit slower every year from age 30 onward. But the rate at which your metabolism slows down is actually rather minimal.

  • It is more a case of over eating and lack of exercise.

Passive fat burning…

By increasing metabolic speed, this juice can improve passive fat-burning throughout the day.

  • Detoxifying the body will help all of your organ systems run more smoothly and function properly, aiding in calorie burning.

Reduce fat storage…

By reducing fat storage, you will have more usable energy and less adipose fat formation.

  • Many people drink a glass of calamansi juice every morning to stimulate the body and achieve weight-loss goals.

The calamansi fruit… what it does do

  • Calamansi also known as kalamansi, calamondin, lemonsito, or Philippine Lime is the small citrus fruit with a bright orange flesh and a peel that goes from green to orange as it ripens.

Calamansi is a citrus fruit similar to lemon and limes. It is often called calamondin in the USA.

Calamansi Taste…

It tastes sour with a hint of sweetness, like a mix between a lime and a mandarin. It has a distinctive aroma – citrusy and floral. If you like the taste of lemon you will probably like calamansi.

Lower Acidity…

Calamansi is known for its acidic content. However, it can reportedly help lower acidity. People drink it as a soothing substance for the stomach.

It can lower levels of inflammation when consumed in moderation. And lower your risk of developing ulcers while protecting you from acid re-flux disease.

Helps Diabetics…

A study cited in the International Journal of Science and Research has been done on the blood sugar-moderating effects of calamansi juice.

It can help regulate the release of glucose and insulin into bloodstream, which is excellent news for those suffering from diabetes or those at risk of developing the disease

Helps Kidney…

Foods for Better Health claims calamansi prevents oral problems and keeps kidneys healthy and regular bowel movements.

  • Calamansi juice keeps the kidney healthy. It reduces foul urine odor and lightens its color.

Regular intake of the juice also purifies the organs and detoxifies the colon. It improves bowel movement and relieves constipation.

Helps Teeth…

Vitamin C from this juice helps prevent tooth decay, bleeding gums, gingivitis or loosening of teeth. It helps remove stains and plaque.

Helps Immunity…

Calamansi has good amounts of minerals and vitamins, especially vitamin C which is essential to building immunity.

It provides immunity against viral and bacterial infections.

  • Drinking this juice on a regular basis helps build immunity against the common cold, flu and fever.

Helps Pregnancy…

Calamansi should not be consumed in excess, especially during pregnancy.

  • Citrus fruits like lemon and calamansi can trigger heartburn during pregnancy. Also, citrus juices may cause stomach cramps, indigestion or diarrhea if consumed in excessive amounts.

Helps Lower Cholesterol…

Calamansi can also help control cholesterol levels. This is good news, particularly for those who want to lose weight.

Helps Heart Health…

Also Calamansi is believed to help lower your risk of heart attack and stroke.

All in all this little fruit packs a powerful punch. So lets put it to the juicer.

Juicing…

  • Its pulp has a distinctive flavor described as “a cross between lime and orange.” The tartness of calamansi blends well with other juices, such as banana, apple, grape, papaya, mango and coconut water.

If you have ever made lemon juice this is very similar.

Collagen acts as cement to bind loosely connected cells and tissues; this way, it is able to prevent signs of aging like wrinkles.

Fair Skin…

The fruit also helps make the skin fairer, since it acts as a mild bleach. The fruit extract can be applied to an area safely, without causing burning sensation or irritation. You can use a half cut calamansi and smear it on your skin. People use it as a whitener for dark knees and elbows and as an alternative to bleach for lightening hair.

Conclusion

People who want to lose weight might consider drinking calamansi juice. If you cant find calamansi, use lime instead. There is no evidence to say you will lose weight. But it can help in your endeavors to manage your weight.

  • The fruit is smaller than a typical lime, has a thinner skin, and seems best used within a week after harvest if not refrigerated.

If you like the calamansi peel, according to research, dietary fiber powder from calamansi peel is mostly composed of insoluble fiber that has major health benefits.

People drink lemon water, apple cider vinegar, lime juice, and other acidic juices in the quest to lose weight. Calamansi juice is on that list because of its metabolism boost credentials.

  • Calamansi is certainly beneficial to health.

Try it, after all you are the only one to know if it works.
